It’s about time

Living “up north” has been wonderful. We love it here. But the dial-up has been killing us. Finally there will soon be high speed access in our small part of the North Country.

Charter to begin high-speed internet upgrade in Roscommon county

Charter Communications is beginning an upgrade of its area cable networks which will give customers in Crawford, Roscommon and Ogemaw Counties access to state-of-the-art communications services, including high-speed Internet access.

Included in the upgrade will be Backus, Beaver Creek, Denton, Gerrish, Higgins, Lyon, Lake, Markey, Richfield, Roscommon and South Branch Townships and the Village of Roscommon.

This $7.5 million upgrade project will begin Aug. 2, with outside network construction starting in the the St. Helen area. Charter plans for completion of the project later this year.
